Endometriosis is a condition in which the womb lining tissue (endometrium) is found outside the uterus, in the pelvis or ovaries. Despite being located in the wrong place, they are still responsive to hormonal cycles and undergo changes during menses, Overtime it can result in inflammation, adhesions and ‘blood cysts’ causing painful menses and subfertility.

An ovarian cyst is a sac that contains fluid in a woman's ovary. Follicular cysts are part of the ovulation cycles in women of reproductive age. They resolve spontaneously and do not cause any symptoms.

However, some ovarian cysts may persist and increase in size over time. Medication or Surgery may be necessary for these.

Fibroids are growths/tumours in the womb. They are also known as myomas or leiomyomas. They are found in about 20% of women and are usually non-cancerous (benign). Most women with fibroid conditions do not have symptoms. Some women may have heavy or painful periods, pain in abdomen/lower back or urination frequency.
